This week Jeremy and I are going to start pulling back the curtain just a bit, showing a few select screenshots from SEOintelligence.com.
The first up is our SEOiQ Testing Center — one of the centerpieces of SEOi. From the Testing Center, you can input up to three competitor site URL’s to measure your own site’s SEOiQ (a score generated by an algorithm that encompasses PageRank, backlinks, Compete.com scores, Technorati rank, and a series of other proprietary measures of site search engine ranking strength).

Training the SEOiQ Algorithm - MATLAB and NNTool
Training a algorithm? is that his Dogs name? Okay, it may sound funny - but that is exactly what we have been doing for our SEOiQ Diagnostic Test and Scoring System. It sounds a lot more complicated than it truly is, but in a nutshell we have trained a Neural Network in MATLAB using NNTool (Neural Network Toolbox) to tweak/muscle/tune/mold and eventually complete our SEOiQ Algorithm.
We ran into many issues during testing and implementation (not all have been resolved - cough cough) and this ws my first time with this complex of a MATLAB project. So I learned a ton working with different layer weights and biases + tweaking the network schema, plus hundreds of other complexities I won’t dare to bore you with.
Then the real fun started after analyzing the 1000+ pieces of sample data, we had to then convert our crazy Matlab simulation program to C# - and have it read all the various inputs with 100% accuracy, pass proper parameters and give the output instantly? (sounds like a killer Saturday night right? especially when you’re at 62% confidence and the simulation stalls - LOL)

Writing a Business Plan - Details, Details, Details…
I wanted to touch on the importance of a Business Plan whenever starting any new Venture. SEO Intelligence Inc. (The Corporation) is not the first company I have ever formed - I have a another 4+ year Company (SimpleSEM.com) that has been profitable since it’s first year in business (due to hard work and diligence!). It was coincidently also the initial inspiration and epicenter of experience to start SEOintelligence.com.
When I initially conceived of SEOintelligence.com (it name was RockSEO.com initially - LOL) I knew the complexities of the business opportunity demanded a professional, comprehensive and thoroughly written Business Plan. I had my work cut out for me, as I was developing/project managing/funding/holding a day job and burning the candle at both ends - time was not on my side. I had to find a solution and fast!
I was referred to MasterPlans.com by a colleague of mine, and the rest is history. A huge amount of gratitude must be extended to all the folks at MasterPlans…thanks again for all your help, support and assistance - we couldn’t do it without you!
Our team is trying to follow the Sequoia Capital ideology of Elements of Sustainable Companies…where we can of course ;).
